My husband had recently competed in a Spartan Race and the kids had been rather obsessed with their “Daddy jumping over fire” so we created a Mini-Spartan Obstacle Course right in our very own backyard. The whole point of a Spartan Race is to have fun – but to be challenged – so make sure your course has lots of ups-and-downs. Let your imaginations run wild, and have a blast setting up your very own course. P.S. It’s even more fun when Dad competes too, and Mom acts like the paparazzi crawling after the kids taking pictures.

A few years ago, my husband and I traded in our charming, little New Englander for a bigger, cooler, 1920s Tudor. The story of how we came to call this Tudor our home is a long one, so for now, we’ll just focus on our not-so-charming, minty-green bathroom. I’d love to be all hip and cool, and say that this bathroom was vintage – but that would be a lie. A big, fat lie. In all honesty, it was a mess…and I wasn’t sure what we were going to do with it.
Liatris spicata, Blazing Star, or Gayfeather Before my sister and I became Stay-At-Home-Moms, we used to work for a flowerbulb and perennial company, K. Van Bourgondien & Sons. Over the five years that we worked for the Van Bourgondien family, we gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about bulbs and perennials. As their Internet Marketing…

The doctor recommended that I give my kids probiotic yogurt. It sounded good to me, except that my picky eaters that would sooner eat dirt than yogurt. I’ve tried, and tried and tried. Some food items are permanently in no fly zone territory for them.
As you probably know by now, my sister and I are madly in love with anything – and everything – coastal. So when we came across John Birdsong’s shop, Recycled State, on Etsy a few months ago, we were giddy with excitement! John’s super-cool recycled designs immediately caught our eye!
Lucky for you, John let us interview him for this month’s Featured Etsy Artisan, and we’re pleased as punch because Recycled State is one of the coolest Etsy shops we’ve ever had the pleasure of featuring on We Know Stuff!
It’s no secret that children produce a ton of artwork. The challenge for me is finding a neat and orderly way to display it. When I saw this art cable at Pottery Barn Kids, I fell in love with it. It is so easy to swap artwork in and out, so easy the kids can hang their art themselves. It is perfect, except…

My sister loves Rocky Road Ice Cream, so every year, on or around her birthday, I make her a batch from scratch! In my opinion, this is the best type to gorge on because you get to make sure that all of the ingredients are just the way you like them.
