Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love having my family all around me, cooking, baking and eating. It is the big kickoff to the holiday season for us and I can't wait until it arrives! This Thanksgiving will be even more special for us, as my daughter's birthday falls on Thanksgiving Day.
That means the house will be filled with all of our usual Thanksgiving food items and birthday cake and ice cream. That could result in some seriously upset bellies by the end of the night. With that in mind I thought it might be best to have a few healthy alternatives available to the kids this year. As much as they love dressing up, playing with their cousins and eating all day long - I don't really want them filling up on chips and pretzels before the big meal.
I put together a few snacks for the kids to have before our big turkey dinner. I am fairly certain the kids will be drawn to these funny and healthy turkey themed snacks this year. You probably have most of these items already in your pantry. Apples, raisins, cranberries, cheese sticks and crackers. This also give the kids the chance to disassemble the snack and just pick what they like.
