Crispy, crunchy, maple-syrup drenched French Toast? Can it get any better than that?
Why yes it can – if you happen to have some stale Raisin Bread on hand! Then it becomes crispy, crunchy, maple-syrup drenched, Raisin Bread French Toast! And that's just heavenly.
Are you wondering where I am going with all of this chatter about French Toast? Well, I was recently asked to do a Product Review for Coffee-mate Creamers. I was going to pass on the opportunity because I don't use them in my coffee, but then I saw that they wanted me to cook with their creamers, and thought it would be fun to try.
One of the creamers that I tested was their Brown Sugar Maple Latte flavor. I'm not usually a Maple-lover, so I didn't know what to expect. But upon trying the creamer, I knew it would be perfect for making some nice, hearty Raisin Bread French Toast.
And I must say, Raisin Bread drenched in Brown Sugar Maple Latte Coffee-mate Creamer is to die for! The results were outstanding. The kids inhaled it – I inhaled it – and my husband inhaled the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. The only downer was that I didn't have any more stale bread in the house to make another batch. If you love French Toast, this recipe must make its way into your recipe box!
RAISIN BREAD FRENCH TOAST
Ingredients:
* 1 cup Brown Sugar Maple Latte Coffee-mate Creamer
* 4 eggs
* 10 pieces of stale, Fiber One Raisin Bread
Directions:
Step 1: In a wide, shallow bowl, whisk together Coffee-mate Creamer and eggs until light and frothy.
Step 2: Dip slices of bread in egg mixture, one at a time, making sure to soak each side. Allow excess egg mixture to drip off and then place on a heated, greased skillet.
Step 3: Cook the slices of bread over medium heat and brown on each side until crispy. When both sides are brown, remove from heat and serve.
Note: You can also make these ahead of time and just reheat them later. I also save the leftovers in the fridge and my kids pop them in the toaster the next morning for a quick "home-cooked" breakfast!

Your french bread looks scrumptious, but I can’t even think of eating another morsel after that Thanksgiving meal.
