Now that November is here, we’re all about planning for Thanksgiving. In our home, we’re very respectful of the fact that everyone needs to see everyone, so my sister and brother-in-law host a Thanksgiving Brunch at their house each year. This way, we all get to be together for a few hours before we head off to the next stop.
The best part about hosting a brunch is that you get to eat all sorts of different foods than you do at dinner. Each of us has certain things that we’re responsible for bringing and the family counts on them being front and center each year. One of these family favorite recipes happens to be our Mom’s Crab Dip.
This baked crab dip has graced our holiday tables ever since we were kids. And each year, my siblings and I are always rushing to the table to see who can eat it first. Sadly for my sister and I, Mom only makes a second dish for our brother…because he’s her baby. Isn’t that funny?
The best part about this recipe is that Mom can make it ahead of time so that she’s not stressed on Thanksgiving morning. Then she just has to warm up in the oven once she gets to my sister’s house. We only eat this baked crab dip with Wheat Thins – we’ve tried other crackers and it’s just not the same – but feel free to use whatever your heart desires.
