Trying To Conceive: What Is The Stork OTC? A drug-free, at-home conception kit using new technology based on cervical cap insemination. Infertility help. We have partnered with The Stork OTC to bring you this information and giveaway.
As many of you are aware, I struggled with infertility for several years before conceiving my first child. It was a very sad time for my husband and I because we wanted nothing more than to create a family together. It sounds simple enough, but for us, it wasn’t.
You see, back when I was in college, I developed an ovarian cyst. I did not know it at the time, but over the course of the year, it grew to be the size of an apple. Being that I was in college, I thought that the pain I was experiencing was from one too many drinks at the bar. (Seriously. College kids think that they are immortal and every ache and pain can be attributed to a hangover.)
Unfortunately for me, I was not hungover. Instead, I was growing an ovarian cyst and the sheer weight of it kept throwing me into ovarian torsion. Ironically, they only found the cyst after I was admitted to the hospital for appendicitis. But by the time they found it, the torsion had tore open my fallopian tube and I was bleeding internally. Yay.
Due to my young age, the doctors decided to try and save the ovary. Instead of performing a complete salpingo-oophorectomy (the medical term for removing both the fallopian tube and the ovary), they performed a partial oophorectomy and stitched my fallopian tube back up. This way, I might be able to harvest eggs from this ovary if I ended up being infertile. As a senior in college, I had no idea what this really meant, but my Mom (a nurse) seemed hesitantly relieved that they were saving the ovary. And since I had no intentions of getting pregnant any time soon, life carried on.
A year later, I met my Prince Charming (although he hates when I call him that). We fell in love. We got married. We tried making babies. Nothing happened. We laughed. We made fun of ourselves. We kept trying to make babies. A lot. Still, nothing happened. I started getting sad. We saw my regular OBGYN who did nothing for us. Then, we saw a better OBGYN who transferred us over to a fertility specialist.
What? Wait a minute. Who needs a fertility specialist? Me? Nah. I was young. I was vibrant. I was in love. I didn’t have fertility problems…until I did.
It’s pretty humbling to be told that you most likely won’t make a baby. It’s pretty humiliating too. I mean aren’t ALL women supposed to be able to make babies if they want to? And, the worst part? It’s soul crushing. Those few words: You’re infertile – are soul crushing. They make you really, really sad. They make you not want to see your friends. They make you not want to be around happy people with newborn babies. They make you struggle with your partner. They make you a shell of yourself.
And you have to work through it, which many infertile couples do. They can see a specialist and try IUI, or IVF, or even a surrogate. They can adopt. They can foster. They can choose not to have children. But a choice has to be made, so you can carry on.
We never knew that our journey to parenthood would be so difficult, and sadly, we’re not alone. There are 7.3 million couples in the U.S. having trouble conceiving right now. If you’re not experiencing difficulty yourself, you most likely know someone who is.
Fertility troubles are an all-too-common issue, which is why we partnered with The Stork OTC, an at-home option that could bring hope to so many struggling couples. What is the Stork OTC?
The Stork OTC is a drug-free conception device that offers a relaxed and private way of conceiving at-home using new technology based on cervical cap insemination. It’s a sensible option that puts you in control, and is widely available over-the-counter, without a prescription to optimize your chances of conceiving this month.
The FDA cleared The Stork OTC for help with common fertility difficulties such as:
- Motility issues with sperm
- Diminished sperm count (low sperm count)
- Unfavorable vaginal environment
- Unexplained infertility
The Stork OTC is the real deal and they just released clinical data in the journal Surgery Technology International, which demonstrates that The Stork OTC is more effective at delivering sperm to the cervix than natural intercourse. You can see the study details here: http://www.storkotc.com/post-coital/.
We’ve partnered with The Stork OTC because I understand that the struggle to conceive is very real. I know what it’s like to be told that your most likely not going to be able to have children. I also know that not everyone has an insurance plan that will cover the costly expenses associated with IUI, IVF or even surrogacy. This is where The Stork OTC comes in. It offers a simple way to optimize a couple’s chance for conception, in the privacy of their own home, and for only $79.99/single-use device, it’s far less costly than other methods. Plus, cervical cap insemination has a recorded success rate of around 20%, which is comparable to IUI, at a fraction of the cost.
I want to help couples that are struggling to conceive, so not only am I participating in a Twitter chat with The Stork OTC on December 8th at 12:00 pm EST, but we are also offering a reader giveaway of The Stork OTC kit (a $79.99 value) to a randomly selected reader.
That’s right. We want to help you, or someone you know, make a baby. So enter this giveaway for you and your partner — or share it with someone you know that’s trying to make a baby. Heck, share it with everyone you know…because with 7.3 million couples in the U.S. struggling to conceive, chances are, you know someone who could use The Stork OTC.
