I recently had the opportunity to review the Cascades Cardboard Playhouse and I can't begin to tell you how much fun it is! The kids have made the playhouse their own home within our home, and I don't think I have seen them in over a week.

Aside from this being an adorable, sturdy little house for the kids, I love what the Cascades Cardboard Playhouse has provided them with – a chance to be creative. Since we put the playhouse together, they haven't asked me to turn on the t.v., nor have they said those few dreaded words — "we're bored".

They have been very happy (and busy!) decorating, coloring and relaxing in their little house. We've had it for a couple of weeks now and they have not tired of playing with it. Every day my daughter shows me her latest masterpieces – sometimes it's a flower drawn by the flower box, sometimes it's a rain cloud out on the roof, and sometimes it's a new family picture drawn inside the playhouse.

As far as the details go…the Cascades Cardboard Playhouse is shipped flat and arrives in 1 box. The box is fairly lightweight, and I was able to get them inside the house on my own. Assembly is relatively easy and doesn't require any tape, glue or tools. The key to getting the house put together in about 10 minutes is to have 2 adults on hand – and no kids!  I learned this the hard way – I thought that one ambitious adult (me) and two insane children (them) would somehow work. This created much confusion because the kids "really wanted to help" and we all know how well that turns out. It's never good. I won't even tell you how long it took me to assemble with the kids…it was just an embarrassing amount of time.

However, once the clubhouse was finally put together, everyone was overjoyed. They were in and out, and out and in. My daughter promptly stole my kitchen rug, and told me that "their house" needed it. Then she convinced my son to help her drag their bean bag chairs inside of it. Before I knew it, they were hunkered down inside of the playhouse with as many books, toys and snacks they could fit into it! I was even recruited to deliver their snacks to their window — whatever makes them happy!

Once they were done setting up their house, I let them in on the big secret. They were allowed to DRAW all over their house! All over it! My daughter nearly lost her mind. She was always the child redecorating my dining room walls with sharpies, pens, lipstick – whatever. She immediately pulled out the crayons and got to work.

In all honesty, the Cascades Cardboard Playhouse is one playhouse that you can feel good about buying them. Not only is it made from 100% recycled corrugated cardboard, but the house is also fully recyclable once they outgrow it. Another bonus? The house is very lightweight so it can be easily picked up to clean around it, and it can be easily taken apart if you need to relocate it.

    Well home within the home looks very cute.These little girls have made such a nice Cascades Cardboard Playhouse with lightweight.I really appreciate their work.
