My children always come home from school with adorable art projects. The problem is I never know what to do with them. I don't like having them stowed away in a folder in the basement where they never see the light of day. The art my kids create always brings a smile to my face, so I thought why not have it displayed in our home? I already had the perfect space in mind. I chose to display their art in our playroom where we have a large blank wall.

I decided to go wandering through Michael's craft store and I came across Fundamentals Framing art display frames. They are very lightweight and have a plexiglass front that won't shatter if something or someone knocks it off the wall. (And $6.99 for a 2 pack of 11 x 14 frames is a price that can't be beat!) The back also opens up very easily so I can swap the artwork out as they bring home new projects.

I gathered up a few of their art projects that looked nice together and trimmed away any excess paper that wasn't needed. I used a trusty glue stick to glue the artwork to white paper and popped it into the frame.
For hanging I decided to use ball thumbtacks. The frames do come with mounting hardware attached, but with the frames being so lightweight I found that the lip of the frame balanced perfectly on a ball thumbtack.
The kids were so excited to see their artwork hanging in their playroom. They couldn't wait for their daddy to come home from work so they could show off their little masterpieces! It was nice to see how proud they were of the beautiful projects they created.
My brother-in-law does that…it funny because they have very formal dining and living rooms, and when you look around you see all this nice artwork and THEN you realize the kids did it (They are 8 and 10). He frames them all nice. It’s cool.
I’ll be over in an hour with my hammer!
I love it!! Now you can come to my house and hang up all of Ty & Abbey’s artwork!
