Hi there! Welcome to We Know Stuff. We’re Denine & Daniele, two Gemini Irish Twins that do almost everything together.
We Know Stuff is our family-friendly lifestyle blog. Here you’ll find all sorts of articles related to a growing family in today’s society. Crafts, recipes, gardening, fitness, special needs, education and parenting. You’ll find it all right here.
Some days, it’s hard to believe that we’ve been blogging since June 2010. In the beginning, we just did it for fun, but now, several years later, we get to call it our job. This is simply amazing.
So what will you find and learn here at We Know Stuff?
For starters, it’s important to know that we’re just real people trying to do the best we can for our families every single day. Some days, we’re like rock stars and nail it. Other days, not so much. So we just do the best we can and hope we all turn out okay.
In terms of our lifestyles, we follow the 80/20 principle in pretty much everything we do. So what does this mean exactly?
Well, when it comes to food, it means that even though we try to eat healthy most of the time, there are still some days when we’re at the drive through because we forgot to plan out what we were eating that day. It means that even though we are both committed to buying products that don’t have corn syrup or artificial food dyes and colorings listed in the ingredients, we sometimes falter. It also means that even though we want to buy non-GMO and organic food all of the time, it’s just not financially feasible, so we just try to avoid “The Dirty Dozen” whenever we can.

When it comes to our lifestyles, it means that even though our children all participate in extracurricular activities and love to be outside, there are always days when we’d rather hunker down inside to watch tv and binge on video games in the basement. It means that when we have lazy days like these, we don’t feel bad about it. Instead, we relish having the kids piled up on top of us and try to appreciate that they won’t always want to hang out with us forever. One day, their friends will be way cooler than us – and we are very well aware of this – so we snuggle away while we still can!

In general, it means that we believe that life is all about balance, and as we approach our 40’s, we’ve become much more confident about tuning out the noise and focusing on what matters most to us: our families.
We want them to be healthy both inside and out, we want them to be grounded in life and not take things for granted, we want them to be respectful of themselves and others, we want them to feel secure in their journey from childhood to adulthood, and most importantly, we want them to be happy and to know they are loved.
So now that you know a little bit more about us, sign up for our newsletter so we can stay in touch. Each week, we’ll send you kid-approved recipes and fun kids crafts for you to enjoy with your family.
