Farmer’s Market French Toast & Fruit Salad

Plate

Ok, if you can’t tell by now, I have a slight addiction to our local Farmer’s Market. Seriously, I am a stay-at-home mom on a limited budget and I am spending all of our hard cold cash on jams, breads, and spirits. I think I might have a problem here…however, my cooking is improving – so thus far, my husband hasn’t complained…

On a recent trip to our local Farmer’s Market in Islip, NY, I couldn’t help but notice the amazing breads piled high on the counter of A Taste of Home’s market stand…and, I just HAD to have some! You see, it is a well-known fact that I go weak in the knees for a good 'ole roll of cinnamon raisin bread. In my world, there is nothing better – especially when it's heartily brushed with cinnamon sugar on the outside!

I have been known to start gnoshing on the roll before I've even paid for it. So, if you ever need a favor of me, just come to my house with some good old fashioned cinnamon raising bread, and I will be certain to do your bidding. Sad, but oh so true!

Anyway, now that you all know my weakness, let me try to focus…I love this bread!

Gosh darnit, I keep dreaming about all of that bread – which is long gone…

Ok, back to my original story. I somehow made it back to our house without inhaling the entire roll of cinnamon-y goodness, so I decided that the nice thing to do was to make us some breakfast. I saved just enough bread to make some delicious Cinnamon Raisin French Toast accompanied by a lovely heaping of homemade fruit salad!

I am happy to say that the everyone enjoyed their breakfest! The kids didn't even realize that their fruit was served without some sugar sprinkled on top! Whoo-hoo!

Obviously, my little ham, Abbey, didn't care if the whole wide world saw her bed head, but Tyler has principles, so he hid under the table instead of being photographed in his jammies.
