Kids Craft: Recycled Bottle Vases

https://www.weknowstuff.us.com Kid's Craft Recycled Bottle Vase
I always seem to be throwing out a lot of plastic bottles. As my daughter was wandering around our yard picking flowers I came up with a use for those bottles. Once the top was cut off the bottom became an unbreakable outdoor vase. And to my surprise, my daughter came up with a use for the tops. A “flower wand”.

KIDS CRAFT: RECYCLED BOTTLE VASES

Step 1: Rinse out plastic bottle and remove label.

Step 2: Squeeze the bottle and make a cut at the pinched side. Cut around the perimeter of the bottle.

Step 3: Hot glue ribbon to the raw edge of the bottle.

Step 4: Send the kids on a rock hunt. Fill the base with pebbles.

Step 5: Let the kid’s pick out flowers to fill their vases. (Supervise with cutting.)

Step 6: Invert the top of the bottle with the cap still on. Fill with water and flowers for a flower wand!

Enjoy!

I’m sure when they said “throwing out” all their bottles, they meant recycling. With all that these ladies have thought of and contributed
do they really seem like people that wouldn’t recycle?

These crafts look so cute. I look forward to a time when my boys are old enough to enjoy a project like that… For now we’ll stick to finger painting.

Thanks Jessica! I love that it’s pretty much an “unbreakable” vase. No biggie if my kids knock it over!

What a wonderful idea to do with the kids. I love it and the finished product looks so chic and like you would see it in southern living or something. Great idea!

No question a great activity for all involved and I am so delighted to learn that you’ve started a recycling program.

I think that this is a GREAT idea. I’m sure the kids had a blast making them, and playing with the wands once they were done. Best of all, when you’re done with them, they can be recycled and you will have gotten not just one, but two uses out of a single plastic bottle.

I’d like to suggest another use for the plastic bottles you are “always” throwing out- recycle them. Plastic pollution is one of the fastest growing ecoological problems we have on our great planet… 🙂
