Stock Up On Pretty Garden Planters Now

Planters_dog

In case you didn't know, now is the perfect time to go shopping at your local garden centers. Not only are they selling all of their plants at huge discounts to make room for fall plants, but they are also trying to clear out their seasonal pots and planters to make room for Halloween and Christmas decorations.

Last weekend, I went to one of my favorite nurseries, Stables Garden Center in North Babylon, NY to see what perennials were on sale and to stock up on some great planters at super discounted prices.

I like to stock up on planters now, while they're on sale, to have on hand for easy-to-make gifts throughout the year. Once the planters are bought, I can fill them with whatever plant is in season when the needs arises. Besides, you never know when someone is going to need a little pick-me-up.

For example, my beloved sister just took care of our dogs for us – two weekends in a row. She would never let me buy her a proper thank-you gift for simply helping me out, but I also know that she'll never turn down a bronze piggy, or a plant!

So, imagine my excitement when I found this piggy planter – it was originally $24.99, but I got it on sale for $6.25 – whoo hoo! Then I grabbed her a big fat "hen-and-chicks" (Sempervivum tectorum) that was also on sale, and plopped it inside.

That's right Daniele, I totally cheaped out on you! But, like our Momma always says, "it's the thought that counts – not the amount." 🙂

So, if you get a free minute, run on down to your nearest garden center now and stock up on some pretty planters – with fall right around the corner, and all of the gatherings that go with it, it'll make gift giving so much easier when you need to go somewhere.

Thanks for reading,
Denine

You are the best sister ever! I love my piggy, can’t wait until the weather gets a little colder and I can bring him inside with all his piggy friends! The “thought” definitely went a long way, I love it!
