We have been off to a rough start this summer. One little girl with walking pneumonia and one little boy with bronchitis. While I was sitting in the doctor's office with my son, I got an interesting bit of info.
The doctor recommended that I give my kids probiotic yogurt when they are on antibiotics. I don't really remember why it was good, I was too busy trying to figure out if my son was going to throw up. All I remember was, it sounded good to me, except that my picky eaters that would sooner eat dirt than yogurt. I've tried, and tried and tried. Some food items are permanently in the never gonna eat it category for them.
I was staring at the probiotic yogurt I bought, and knew my kids would never eat. I remembered seeing on Pinterest a picture of frozen yogurt drops. Maybe, just maybe I would be able to get them to eat some Strawberry Yogurt Drops!
Step 1:
Go get that probiotic yogurt. Stir it up and pick out any fruit pieces that may send your yogurt-phobic kids running for the hills.
Step 2:
Spoon it into a fancy frosting bag or a ziplock bag. Seal and snip a small whole in the bottom. Layer a baking sheet with foil. Squeeze little drops of yogurt onto the sheet.
Step 3:
Pop in the freezer for 1 hour or more. Pop the pieces off the foil and serve. They melt very quickly so only remove what you plan to eat.
And…NO they did not eat them. But, I did and they were awesome. They taste like creamy little drops of ice cream, but healthier!
Thanks for reading!

Excellent, fun idea to invite kids to eat a probiotic yoghurt. You can even tell them it’s not a yoghurt, it’s ice cream drops!
