My Grandmother.

My Grandfather.

My Aunt.

My Uncle.

I’m sure I’m missing more…

What do they all have in common? (Aside from being very funny people?)

The Big C. That’s what.

And I bet that you’re just like us. That you too, can name some people that you really, really care about that have had to fight the Big C, which is why we want to help Tic Tac® mints raise some awareness for CancerCare®, a non-profit committed to supporting people affected by cancer.

Founded in 1944, CancerCare® provides free support services and information to help people manage the emotional, practical and financial challenges of cancer. Each year, CancerCare® helps one million people throughout the U.S. and distributes more than $30 million in financial assistance.

No matter where you turn, or who you talk to, someone always knows someone who has had their lives completely changed by cancer. So whenever my sister and I hear of ways that we can help raise awareness, or help support families in need, we’re all ears.

In this case, we’re here to let you know about CancerCare’s largest fundraising program of the year — their Walk/Run for Hope. This fundraiser brings together communities in our area to walk or run in memory of those they have lost to cancer, to honor survivors, and to support those currently facing the disease.

This fundraising event is open to the public and you can show your support by signing up for a Walk/Run for Hope near you! More information and registration information can be found here: http://www.cancercare.org/walk

We’d love your help spreading the word about these upcoming events:

  • Sunday, September 14 at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, CT
  • Sunday, September 28 at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ
  • Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course, Woodbury, NY

We also wanted to mention that Tic Tac® mints is in its tenth year of partnering with CancerCare®. As part of its 2014 Shake, Share & Care® campaign, The Tic Tac® brand is donating $50,000 to the non-profit.  They’ve also released their Strawberry Fields Tic Tac mints with special edition packaging to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Help show your support and pick up a pack — or two — and share with someone you care about!
