3 Tips For A More Confident You

wks_shick-quote

For some people, like myself – self confidence does not come naturally. Some days I find myself waking up with a smile on my face, full of confidence. Other days I don’t find my self confidence right away, some days my confidence comes to me when my children give me a hug or tell me how much they love me. Over the years I have learned that self confidence is something I have to work at.

When I find myself filled with feelings of self doubt, I immediately try replacing them with feelings of security instead of insecurity. I think positive thoughts and focus on what makes me happy in life. Just the thought of my children laughing and smiling, instantly changes the way I feel. I also try to start my day with exercise, a little pampering and of course a healthy meal. I know that by starting my day this way will result in an instant confidence boost for myself. I have found that this combination is the perfect way to set myself up for a successful day!

3 TIPS FOR A MORE CONFIDENT YOU

1. Exercise
I have found that exercising 3-5 times a week is the best confidence booster I can do for myself. If I wake up and don’t feel like exercising, I just tell myself to just go for a very short run. Once I am out the door, I immediately find myself in a better mood.

Studies show that just 30 minutes of exercise a few times a week is enough to make you a happier, more confident person. Exercise not only benefits your physical health, but your mental health too. Dedicating time to exercise each week will lead to a less stressed, more positive you!

2. Pamper Yourself

I always exercise during the early morning hours and I love rewarding myself with a nice, hot shower afterwards. I take my shower time very seriously. It is my time. To make sure that I enjoy each and every second, I keep the shower stocked with my favorite shaving and beauty products. I also take the time to shave my legs every day because no one should have to witness my hairy legs when I’m out on a run.

I love to lather up with St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Wash and shave my legs with my Schick Hydro Silk® Women’s Razor. I have very sensitive skin and I appreciate that St. Ives products are made with 100% natural ingredients, are paraben free, hypoallergenic and Dermatologist tested. These are my go-to products for smooth, radiant skin. I also follow up with St. Ives Fresh Apricot Scrub to make sure that I’ve removed all of the sweat, grime and sunscreen from my face. By the time I’m done with my beauty routine, I feel ready to take on whatever the day throws at me!

3. Healthy Eating

Not too long ago, I took a long, hard look at my diet and decided that there was a lot of room for improvement. Although I had a strong exercise regime, I wasn’t really seeing the results that I had hoped for and my diet was to blame. I realized that in order to get the most confidence out of myself, I needed to feel healthy and strong inside and out.

By making a few small changes, I was able to see big results. I decided to stop making excuses for my constant snacking and change the way I ate each day. Instead of “grazing”, I started eating three real meals a day. I also started prepping healthy snacks for myself (carrots, celery, dried fruit, nuts, etc) the night before so I wouldn’t be tempted to seek out a bag of chips or other empty calories.

I know this list may not seem groundbreaking to some of you, but I really believe that regular exercise, healthy eating and a little pampering each day go a long way towards and more confident me — and you! What do you do each day to inspire confidence in yourself? Let us know in the comments section below.

Daniele
