Hi there! We’re Denine and Daniele, the sisters behind We Know Stuff. We want to talk to you about the importance of safe skincare products and why we love Beautycounter.

We both have different reasons for deciding to represent Beautycounter on our blog, which we’ll share with you in a few minutes. But first, we wanted you to know something really important: we tested their products out on our own bodies for 6 months before talking about it on our blog.

Why? Well, because we value YOU and your opinion of us. So if we were going to sell someone else’s product on our site full-time, we had to know that it was an amazing product. We had to know if it worked. We had to know that it was the real deal. And now, we know.

So with this firsthand knowledge under our belt, we’re proud to say we believe in Beautycounter. We believe in their safe skincare products. And, we believe that We All Deserve Better.

Don’t you? After finding out that the US hasn’t passed a major federal law to regulate the ingredients in personal care products since 1938, we were a bit surprised, to say the least.

When we thought about how often we applied sunscreen and moisturizer to our faces and bodies – and to our children’s faces and bodies – how could we not take action and get behind a company that was determined to make a difference in our skincare health?

So here we are. Hand in hand with Beautycounter, trying to make a difference. Being inspired that they stand behind their Never List, which is made up of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals that they never use as ingredients in their products. And, being proud that the company we work with has no secret ingredients – what you see is what you get. Now, that’s pretty awesome!

Daniele loves Beautycounter because…

If you are a regular visitor to our blog, you know that Denine and I are as opposite as two sisters can be, especially when it comes to our beauty routines. Denine is the ultimate minimalist, sticking to her tried and true favorites. When she finds a brand she loves, she is the ultimate loyalist and will stick with it for years. Me? Not so much, I can be as fickle as the weather, bouncing from one product to the next. I love trying out new products and can often be found locked in the bathroom “playing” with my makeup.

When we first started hearing about Beautycounter, I was curious about their safe skincare products and makeup options. Having super-sensitive skin, I am always on the lookout for makeup that is compatible with my skin type. I have been testing Beautycounter’s makeup line for a few months now and have been thrilled with the results!

Currently, I am having a lot of fun making my way through Beautycounter’s makeup line. I am loving the Lip Sheer in Rose, which is the perfect hint of color for anyone with pale skin and freckles! It leaves my lips soft and moisturized during the winter months and can be layered for a more dramatic look. I am also a big fan of the Color Outline Eye Pencils. This eyeliner goes on smooth, blends easily and stays put during the day. The brown is a versatile color for any daytime look and I can’t wait to try it in violet for a fun date night look!

Denine loves Beautycounter because…

Anyone who knows me knows that I very rarely wear makeup. My everyday makeup routine is ridiculously simple: Moisturizer + Powder. That’s it – day in and day out. Perhaps it’s because I’ve always had a face full of freckles and they are my “natural born makeup,” but I’ve never really been into cosmetics.

However, I live and die by my bottles of moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin and our harsh NY winters always take a toll on my face. To combat the inevitable red, dry patches that appear on my chin and cheeks, I need to have a fantastic skincare routine. Otherwise, come December, my face will burn and that just makes me sad.

I’ve had great success using Beautycounter safe skincare products for the past few months and my current healthy skincare routine includes Nourishing Day Cream, Balancing Face Oil, and Mattifying Powder. I feel 100% comfortable knowing that as these products get absorbed directly into my skin, I’m not slathering my face and body with chemicals. Plus, they offer a Kids product line too and I can’t wait to try it. Yay!
