Natural Fall Decorating Ideas and an Awesome Towel Giveaway

All opinions are our own, however, we did receive Macy’s Micro Cotton towels in exchange for this post! We hope you enjoy these natural fall decorating ideas and enter to win this awesome towel giveaway!

Hands down, fall is my most favorite season of all. I love the cooler weather, the falling leaves and how beautiful the northeast looks in fall. The trees turn the most amazing colors and I find myself getting distracted by them as I drive down the road. Being surrounded by all of this natural beauty makes it easy to decorate my home for fall.

Branches

One of my favorite items to decorate with are branches from trees and bushes. Everything from oak stems, evergreen branches, and boxwood clippings look amazing arranged in a milk pail or oversized pot. You can easily cut the branches and stems to the best size for your vessel. I love larger branches for outdoor areas such as the front porch or patio, and smaller branches for inside my home on the mantel or entryway table.

Leaves

Have your children gather up the brightest leaves they can find. Gently wipe them clean of dirt and debris. Have your kids create some fun, fall art by gluing them to an oversized canvas. Once the leaves have been lightly glued down to the canvas, brush with a thin layer of Mod Podge to seal. Hang your children’s artwork in a prominent space where they can show off their creation to family and friends!

Acorns

My kids absolutely adore gathering up acorns and assorted tree pods. When we take a walk in the woods we bring a small tote bag to fill up with fall goodies. Glass vases, urns and bowls take on a beautiful rustic look when filled with nuts and seed pods. (Be sure to bake acorns at 200 degrees for 2 1/2 hours in order to kill any weevils that may be living inside.)

Linens

As a teenager, I would playfully tease my mom over her seasonal linens. She would send my sister and me up to the attic to look for the “fall linens”, not to be mistaken with the “spring linens”.  She had seasonal hand towels, blankets and even throw pillows. Now that I have a home and family of my own, I can understand exactly why she did it. Swapping in new linens marks the start of the new season and all of the excitement that comes along with it!

One way that I have carried on my mother’s seasonality is with my bathroom towels. In the spring and summer, I stick with crisp white towels and washcloths that can easily be bleached free from ice pop stains. But, when the cooler months arrive, those bright white towels look a bit out of place. I remedy this by swapping in darker, jewel-toned towels that work well from fall through winter.

My favorite color to work with is anything dark green; evergreen, pine, and emerald all jump to the top of my decorating list. The pine colored Micro Cotton Towels featured in this post are exclusively available at Macy’s. Ever since the first signs of fall began to appear, these incredibly soft and fluffy Micro Cotton Towels have been keeping my family blissfully cozy and dry!

We know how much you all love when we can offer you an incredible giveaway – so here we go! You can enter to win these unbelievably, super soft towels for your home! We have partnered up with Micro Cotton & Macy’s to offer you your very own set of Hotel Collection Ultimate Micro Cotton Towels in your preferred color! Enter to win!

Mittens is adorable! I wish I could adopt another cat. Unfortunately my grumpy furbaby doesn’t like to share. 🙁
