When I was a little kid, there was nothing I loved more than the smell of freshly baked cookies. As my siblings and I would scramble in the door after a long day of playing in the snow, our mom always had something delicious waiting for us. Our home was often filled with the smell of yummy chocolate chip cookies, tasty banana bread and tart apple pie.

Now that I am a mom, I like to recreate as many of my mother’s traditions as I can. Especially on the weekends, when I send my children out to play in our backyard. I love putting together an apple crisp or their favorite cookies as a snack for when they come in exhausted and hungry from their adventures.

In celebration of the holiday season, I knew my family would be intrigued to try a trifle. At first glance, trifles appear to be a fancy little dessert, on that required a lot of time and care when putting it together. Luckily for me, looks are deceiving with this sweet pudding dish.

Pillsbury Cinnamon Buns and Sugar Cookies are the stars of this simple dessert.  If you are looking for an effortless treat to make for your family, this is the one. The combination of spongy cinnamon rolls, smooth pudding and crispy cookies ensures that this unassuming dessert will please everyone.

I love making desserts that are quick and easy to make. I conveniently saved myself a lot of time with this one, by using Pillsbury products found at Walmart. Being able to spend the time I save by joining my kids for their outdoor adventures is important to me. I was thrilled that I was able to whip up this quick dessert in less time than it takes to don a snowsuit.

After a long day of play, the smell of spicy cinnamon and sweet sugar began wafting through my house and spilling into our backyard. Before long, the entire family was scrambling through the door to taste this simple trifle recipe.
