How To Save Money On Clothes

Are you always trying to find new ways to save money on clothes? Especially clothes for your children? Schoola helps make this happen!

I don’t know about you, but as a teen, I grew up thrifting. I had a penchant for vintage clothing and so desperately wanted to be a hippie like my Mom. She looked so cool and carefree in pictures wearing her eggplant-colored bell bottoms and long auburn hair – and I thought I could channel some of her mystique by digging through the racks of thrift stores.

Some days, I was lucky – like the day I came across an awesome pair of high-waisted, dark blue denim, bell bottom jeans in my size! They fit me like a glove and I was so in love with them. So much so, that I wore them the day my parents dropped me off at college and probably every day thereafter (because I didn’t really like spending my money on laundry). Looking back, I have no idea what happened to them, but I’m sad that they’re gone.

Needless to say, I’ve always been drawn to seeking out a great deal on clothing, so it’s no surprise that I’m a fan of Schoola. You’ve heard us talk about them before here and here, and we like them so much, that we’re talking about them again. 🙂

Recently, I wanted to see if Schoola could work for our family. Our daughter has incredibly sensitive skin and is very particular about the types of clothing she’ll wear. She’s not doing it to be difficult, she just doesn’t like certain cuts and fabrics. We’ve been having a lot of success with clothes from H&M and Lands End lately, but I wasn’t even sure if Schoola carried these brands. (As you may remember from our earlier posts, Schoola sells second hand clothing that has been donated by families like us.)

So imagine my surprise when I found out that they carried an abundance of H&M and Lands End clothing in her size, with tags (meaning they’re still brand new)! I was so excited because it was going to enable me to buy her favorite brands at an incredibly reduced price AND a portion of my sale would go to a school in need, which made my charitable side really happy.

As you can see from these pictures, our daughter loved her clothes. They were soft. They were squeaky clean with tags. They were the brands she loved. And, she was able to mix and match them with some of the existing clothes in her closet. If you’ve been on the fence about trying Schoola, now’s the time because our readers get a 25% discount on Schoola.com with code: givingstyle. It is valid now through 10/31/14.
