Kids Craft: A Shamrock Tree

Looking for something new to do this Saint Patrick’s Day? Why not make a shamrock tree with your little ones and have everyone write down why they’re feeling lucky this year!

With Saint Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I picked up a package of foam shamrocks from the craft store. My kids love decorating the windows with foam shapes for the holidays. We were getting a little bored with decorating the windows, so I decided to come up with something different.

As I opened the package of shamrocks, I asked the kids if they knew what they were. My son said “leaves” and my daughter told him they were shamrocks. I had to agree that to a three-year-old, they did look a lot like leaves. That’s how we came up with our shamrock tree idea!

Once our tree was complete we played a game of pin the shamrock on the tree. The kid’s had a great time taping their shamrocks onto the branches and seeing their tree fill up with “leaves”. If you want to make it even more personal, consider having everyone write down all o the different reasons they’re feeling lucky this year! Take a picture of your tree to save forever.
