Little Leprechauns? My sister has this funny little tradition at her house. Many years ago she was given a little Leprechaun pin by my late Grandmother, which ultimately inspired this leprechaun craft for kids.
My sister has this funny little tradition at her house. Many years ago she was given a little Leprechaun pin by my late Grandmother. Not long after my Grandmother passed away, the previously “lost” Leprechaun pin showed up. It was pretty ugly and I remember my sister asking what she should do with it. I, of course, said something like “Toss that ugly little thing…,” but Denine – ever the sentimental one – decided to hang onto it.
As soon as my nephew was old enough to grasp the concept of Saint Patrick’s Day, Denine decided to put that little Leprechaun to good use. Every Saint Patrick’s Day, my sister wakes up early to plan all of the shenanigans that the Leprechaun is going to pull. To my nephew and niece’s utter amazement, the Leprechaun does naughty things all day long! He turns the milk in their cereal green, he turns their water green, once he even colored their dog’s tail green!
But, the fun doesn’t stop there! My sister hides the Leprechuan in odd spots throughout the house. The kids will go to get a toy and there he is! In the toy box! They go to get dressed and there he is! In with the socks! They go to brush their teeth and there he is! Sitting on the sink!
Granted, most people would think my sister belongs in a nice little padded cell. Not me! I think she is the best mom in the world. She spends her entire day thinking of ways to put smiles on the faces of her Leprechaun loving little kids. Naturally, she inspired me to come up with a Kids Leprechaun Craft.
