This adorable Halloween Mummy Craft is a fun kids craft that can be made with just a few basic supplies. My kids loved that they have poseable arms and legs.
Halloween is around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. Each year we share a fun family tradition with my sister and her family. We all dress up in costume (parents included) and walk around the neighborhood together.
The adults get to take a ton of pictures and swipe candy from the kid’s baskets when they aren’t looking. (After all, it is a lot of walking and the parents need to keep their energy up!)
My kids really don’t like scary Halloween decorations, we are more of a pumpkin, mummy and friendly witches kind of family. I knew we could very easily make a few mummies of our own to decorate the house.
With a few supplies, we were able to wrap up our very own mummies. They were fun to create and my kids loved that they have poseable arms and legs.
HALLOWEEN MUMMY CRAFT
Materials:
- Styrofoam cones (small)
- Styrofoam balls (small)
- Toothpicks
- White pipe cleaners
- Cheesecloth
- Googley eyes
Directions:
Step 1: You will need 3 toothpicks to attach the head (ball) to body (cone). Fold 2 pipe cleaners in half to make the arms. Leave 2 pipe cleaners the standard length for the legs.
Step 2: Put the three toothpicks in the top of the body and stick the head on top. Push in the pipe cleaner legs and arms.
Step 3: Cut your cheesecloth into long 1/2″ strips. The cheesecloth will attach to the styrofoam and pipe cleaners without any adhesive. Keep wrapping cheesecloth around until the legs, arms, body, and head are covered. Glue on some googly eyes. Now you have your very own Halloween mummy!
