A Magical Mickey and Friends Disney Kids Preschool Playdate

We love Disney, so when the Disney Parks Team asked us if we wanted to host a magical Disney kids preschool playdate, the answer was, “Yes! Yes, we do!” #sponsored #DisneyKids

We love Disney, so when the Disney Parks Team asked us if we wanted to host a magical Disney kids preschool playdate, the answer was, "Yes! Yes, we do!"

As a Mom Blogger for We Know Stuff, I get to have some pretty amazing experiences with my family. We’ve been able to go on a pirate water adventure, we’ve gone to Legoland, and I’ve even been able to write about our favorite place on earth – Disney World! So when the Disney Parks Team reached out to Denine and Daniele to see if they wanted to host a magical Disney Kids Preschool Playdate, they called me! Yay!

I don’t know about you, but hosting a themed party whether it’s a get-together or birthday party makes me SO EXCITED!  Naturally, my mind began to spin as I thought of all of the ways I could make our playdate “Fantasmic.”

Whether you’re creative or depend solely on Pinterest for any occasion (I may just have thousands of boards saved…). Disney made it so easy to host an action-packed Disney Kids Preschool Playdate! They provided me with everything: activities, printouts, and snack recommendations with recipes too!

Since we didn’t have any birthday’s to celebrate this month, I decided to throw this party to celebrate our upcoming trip to Disney World in June. As Florida natives, the heat doesn’t bother us too much, so we try to take advantage of this. We know that Northerners try not to visit Disney World in the extreme heat, but we are so used to it that standing in line in 100+ degree weather is what we’ve been trained for! 😉

I had a blast making our invitations and baking up a storm for our Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. But when the day finally arrived, I must say, I had a nervous feeling like I kept forgetting to buy presents. Lol! It really did feel like we were celebrating one of the boys’ birthdays, so I had to keep reminding myself that it was just a playdate…even though it looked fantastic!

What they sent us for our playdate

The day we received our box was even more exhilarating than our arrival to the Magic Kingdom two years ago, and much less crowded! As the box opened, my three boys (and nephews who happened to be over) couldn’t stop screaming over the most incredible, durable Stormtrooper suitcase from American Tourister. Of course, they were all saying it was “theirs” until I was able to distract them with the rest of the goodies hiding inside the box.

Although the kids loved everything inside the box, I was most excited about the HP Card & Invitation Kit that was included so I could create themed invitations and ten HP Social Media Snapshot Photo Sheets to hand out to our guests! How cool is that?

Not only was I impressed that all of those items fit in the suitcase, but I was really amazed that the Disney Park Team thought to include so many wonderful things to help make our playdate truly amazing! (Thank you, Disney Parks Team!!)

How To Host A Disney Kids Preschool Playdate

We decided to keep this Disney Kids Preschool Playdate on the intimate side and only invited the boys’ close friends. We really wanted them to be able to spend time together playing, swimming, and eating.

decorating & food ideas

The Disney Parks Team provided us with a ton of Mickey Mouse and friends party supplies. The list of stuff that I pulled out of the box was never-ending! Seriously, it was incredible! Needless to say, all of the decorations focused on Mickey Mouse, which worked out great for us!

I know I said we were keeping it a low-key playdate, but they sent us so many goodies, so we decorated with the supplied tablecloth, banner, plates, napkins, cups, party hats, hanging decorations, and goody bags.

Our party was held after school, so food was kept to a minimum as we did not want to spoil their appetite before dinner. But when Disney sends you some super cute cupcake liners, you know you’re going to use them, right? So I made We Know Stuff’s gluten-free cupcakes, a colorful fruit plate, and Pop Secret Popcorn! (P.S. It was also brilliant to include a bottle of Softsoap hand soap to clean up everyone’s icky sticky hands after cupcakes were devoured!)

Chocolate Mayonnaise Cupcakes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups gluten free cake flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup natural cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups Hellmann’s® Real Mayonnaise
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cupcake pan with cupcake liners.

Step 2: Mix all dry ingredients; flour, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder and sugar. Then add Hellmann’s®, eggs, water and vanilla and stir till just mixed through. Divide batter into the 2 prepared pans. Pplace in oven and cook for 25 minutes or until a toothpick in the center come out clean.

Step 3: Remove the cupcakes and allow to cool 30 minutes. Frost with your favorite icing.

crafts and activities

Again, the Disney Parks Team thought of everything including activities to keep the little ones busy and active. The older kids had a great time playing with the Fab Fortune Tellers, Magic Match, and Character Charades games while the little ones went on a find the Hidden Mickey Hunt and colored on individual pages from the coloring book.

We also took lots of silly pictures and had a blast busting open a Mickey Mouse Piñata. Plus, we made up a new game, “Saving Dory,” that had the kids laughing their butts off!

Saving Dory Kids Game

The Disney Parks Team sent us an adorable Dory Pillow Pet, so I wanted to find a way to use it at our playdate and tire out the kids. But after playing “Saving Dory,” I think I was the one who was tired at the end of this game!

This game is a cross between Hot Potato and Tag. One grown up is the “Bad Fish” in the sea. The kids get to be schools of “Good Fish.” They have to keep Dory safe by passing her to one another as I chased them around. The general idea is to run from one side of the play space to the other without getting caught by me!

What else?

Everyone had an amazing time at our afterschool Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. If this is anything like our upcoming trip, we could not be more psyched!  Thank you, Disney Parks Team for hosting such an extraordinary memory!
