Nestled along the St. Lucie River, we ventured to Sandpiper Bay, Florida to a tropical oasis of fun, entertainment and family rejuvenation. Being new to the Club Med lifestyle, we were blown away by the all-inclusive amenities and friendly staff. Remaining Covid safe was a top priority and Club Med went above and beyond to enhance their protocols, safe check-in and more! Looking to forget about 2020 and escape for an adult weekend or family getaway? Club Med Sandpiper Bay is your ticket to happiness!
What began as a typical family vacation quickly turned into excitement for all ages. This resort doesn’t just offer incredible pools and delicious food. Here is an idea of what all-inclusive really entails as we became wild and free at Club Med.
Lodging
Accommodating families of all sizes, there are suites, deluxe options, and the ability to sleep up to eight people in one of their comfortable Connecting Family rooms. As a family of five, this was a huge relief. So often we need to break up into two rooms or convince the boys to share space. The modern decor and furnished terrace created a tranquil space to unwind in between activities and dining. For couples wanting to spend a romantic weekend away, the resort also offers bay views to set the scene for the perfect sunset.

What to do:
Ensure an extra night or two is booked, because the activities are endless at Club Med! We began our day at the splash area. Rushing down the small water slides may have even been more fun for me than the boys! After we’ve raced down the slides in the kiddie area, we took to the infinity pool. The main pool offers comfortable lounge chairs, cabanas to escape the sun, pool side servers and constant entertainment provided by Club Med team members. The children danced in the pool, tie dyed their own shirts and watched a magic show! We also played mini golf as the sun set, took a sailboat around the St. Lucie River and my middle dude took a flying trapeze lesson! Where in the world can you take to the skies? Club Med, of course!
My favorite aspect of this resort was that all of our children could take advantage of activities with minimal supervision. As a mom of three boys, vacations aren’t usually the most relaxing trips. Parents spend a lot of time orchestrating, participating and keeping a close eye to ensure everyone remains safe. Club Med Sandpiper Bay even offers a Children’s Club for ages 4 – 17. A day packed with activities, crafting and meeting new friends from all around the world, it allows adults to take peace at the adults only pool, sign up for yoga and mediation classes or indulge in the extraordinary spa. As a very busy mom, it was refreshing to not have to be the one constantly creating entertainment. This resort takes over so parents can unwind their bodies and minds – which is exactly what is needed this year!
As the sun set, the party began! Engaging guests with various options; one night we watched a movie pool side as the boys night swam and another evening we attended a spectacularly themed glow party. One of the aspects Club Med promotes is feeling accepted and apart of the fun, which made the kids feel special. While constant desserts and tropical drinks flowed, we were continually blown away by the details staff puts into each day. To say this resort thought of it all is a huge understatement. Our family was always engaged, even if we were just sitting around together enjoying the lush greenery atmosphere.
Dining
Going on vacation as a family adds up fast. When it comes to feeding us all breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks (Kids are always hungry!) I absolutely love all-inclusive resorts for this reason. Offering a large window for meals, we had the flexibility to continue playing and not feel rushed. With choices of fresh fish, chicken and five star options, entrees and sides are pre-plated to enhance safety. We entered the dining hall in masks but easily were able to enjoy meals in our own area mask free. My boys absolutely loved waking up to piles of pancakes, fruit and bacon each morning! As always, drinks are included to ensure us parents get our daily dose of coffee and wine. Besides tipping, we never had to reach for our wallet. Each meal was out of this world and always ended with a choice of one of their delectable desserts!
As School begins or breaks approach, I encourage you to visit an establishment that will create long lasting memories. This year especially, our family needed to reconnect, eliminate tension and refuel our hearts. Pause the virtual school fears, difficulties working at home and other stressors that encompass 2020 and have the time of your life at Club Med Sandpiper Bay!

Gina,
Thank you for sharing your experience! We are heading there this week, also with 3 boys 9,8, and 6.
Question about your comment on tipping. Did you tip constantly throughout the day or was there an option to make one large tip at the end of the day?
Thanks again!
Gina Lawrence says
I’m so excited for you! You will truly have a magnificent time. I tipped throughout the day since staff changes periodically. I do believe you can work with the front desk and make one large tip at the end of the day or trip to ensure it gets divided properly to Club Med Team Members.
