Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains, is an unforgettable Colorado destination that offers everything you’re looking for in a relaxing vacation. The Estes Park Resort has assisted travelers in experiencing expansive views and rustic charm since 2011. Their selection of premier suites range from outstanding cabins to spacious lake view / garden view rooms, but all provide the luxuries of home to ensure your convenience and comfort.
Imagine a private resort wrapped around five acres of Lake Estes, neighboring a National Park and surrounded by Elk roaming the property. This dream became a reality as we snuggled to watch the snow fall on their pristine gathering deck. Each aspect of this resort was unforgettable, but here’s what not to miss:
Lodging
Offering 54 guestrooms and suites, this resort accommodates any vacation one can dream up. The large cabins allow for a more intimate setting while still utilizing the fitness center, spa, and dining. Suites provide two rooms with a cozy fireplace for a romantic evening or a tranquil end of the day with family. We selected the lakeview room and felt pampered by the front desk, in room amenities and more. Luxurious and spacious, each room has a balcony to decompress and smell the fresh mountain air. We had the pleasure of arriving to The Estes Park Resort during snowfall. Waking up to our balcony covered in a winter wonderland was straight out of a fairytale. Each room was clean, relaxing and truly defined the meaning of vacation!
Explore
There is never a season in Estes Park Resort where you can’t find something fun to do outdoors. From fishing in the marina to hiking, the trails are a stroll away. Guests can hike Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park or walk the 3.83 mile trail along Estes Lake to slow down from the rest of the world. More in the mood to sight see? Take to the town and visit The Stanley Hotel, where The Shining movie was filmed, explore the Estes Park Museum or go shopping in the quaint stores downtown. Personally, I love to indulge in the views of where I’m staying and could not get enough of the oversized adirondack chairs, firepit and majestic lights steps away from my room.
Dining
The Dunraven Restaurant! If you know anyone that has eaten there, they have not stopped raving about it. Open to the public, but always accommodating resort guests, there is not one menu item that’s less than mouth watering. (Yes, I may know that from experience and tried everything!) What truly made the dinner memorable was the views. Large windows overlooking the lake to view either the mountains in the distance or moon sparkling over the water, it was the most cozy dining experience ever. No matter how busy they seemed, service was exemplary. Above the Dunraven was a lounge to enjoy your post meal nightcap. Lavish fireplaces, oversized couches or friendly bar stools created every atmosphere desired.
Tip: Get the biscuits and gravy for breakfast, Baked Lobster Ziti for dinner and I would not leave without consuming the world’s most delicious cannoli!
The Estes Park Resort surrounded by the beautiful Rockies awaits an unforgettable retreat perfect for families, couples, and friends alike. Enjoy this home away from home as you ease into life after quarantine. Stretch your legs and breathe in the fresh air with your loved ones to create positive, safe memories.
