This past weekend, I went down into the basement to check out our pantry. The shelves were looking pretty full and I wanted to make sure that we were eating up anything that was close to expiring.

I also have a tendency to forget about some of the things that I bought in bulk, so I like to make sure that those items are getting used up too.

As I was reorganizing the shelves, I was pretty surprised to find three bags of white chocolate chips hiding in there. Three bags? What on earth was I doing with that many bags of white chocolate chips?

I don’t even really like white chocolate. Sadly, I have no idea why I bought them, but they were taking up too much space, so they had to go.

I’ve always wanted to make a homemade white chocolate bark recipe and since I had some dye-free candy coated sunflower seeds in the cabinet, I decided to make it!

I figured I would test out this White Chocolate Bark Recipe for Easter and if the kids liked it, I’d bring some over to my sister’s house this weekend. There’s only one piece left, so I’d say it went over well with the kids and my husband!

White Chocolate Bark Recipe

White Chocolate Bark Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 bags (22 ounces) white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup dye-free sunflower seeds

White Chocolate Bark Recipe Directions:

Step 1: Line a 9 by 13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Melt white chocolate over a double boiler and stir frequently until all lumps are gone. (Don’t have a double boiler? Don’t worry. Simply place some water in the bottom of a saucepan and then place a tightly fitting, smaller saucepan on top of that.)

Step 2: When white chocolate is completely melted, pour melted chocolate into the lined baking tray and smooth out with a spatula. Sprinkle sunflower seeds on top and press them gently into the white chocolate.

Step 3: Allow the white chocolate bark recipe to cool completely for about 2 hours to harden, or place in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Cut into nice squares or break it up for a more natural look.

Happy Easter,
