Learn how to make your own homemade body scrubs and you’ll never have to buy them again! Our Lavender Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub is amazing for summer.
Have you ever tried to make your own homemade beauty products? If you haven’t, I highly encourage you to try it. At first, the idea can seem really daunting, but it’s just about the easiest type of DIY project you can tackle. Plus, making my own body scrub recipes saves me money because they can get really pricey at the store. And if we’re being honest, I’m way too cheap to spend money on something that I can make just as well at home!
I’ve been making sugar scrubs for quite some time now and I never get bored of it. From Red Wine to Green Tea, I’ve pretty much tried to make them all. No ingredient is too wacky of an idea for me to try at least once! Our Lavender Coconut Oil Body Scrub is pretty straightforward and only uses three simple ingredients: coconut oil, lavender essential oil and turbinado sugar.
Sugar scrubs are so easy to make and our kids can often be found whipping up new “recipes” in the kitchen. They love STEM projects and making homemade beauty products allows them to be scientists and create all sorts of new scrubs to use in the shower. Our Lavender Coconut Oil Body Scrub is a calming sugar scrub that we created for the kids to help them unwind in the tub before bedtime.
I also love that you can tailor homemade body scrub recipes with essential oils to suit your own individual preferences. Do you love energizing citrus scents? Awesome – go for an orange or tangerine-based scrub. Do you prefer calming scents? Stick with lavender or chamomile. Have dry skin? Use coconut oil or honey. See? The options are endless!
