As many of you know by now, I am NOT the "crafty creative" sister on this blog; that honor goes to Daniele. Somehow, she managed to inherit all of my mother's crafty-genes, while I just got stuck with my father's hairy toes. (No, really – it's sad, but true.)
My sister's uncanny knack for making things look terrific has been the source of many sisterly arguments over the years. It doesn't matter what she tries to do, it just always comes out looking cool. (And that's REALLY annoying!)
For example, just the other day, Daniele was discussing her fireplace mantle – and how she wasn't sure if it looked good. So, being the trooper that I am, I went over to take a look.
Needless to say, I wanted to throttle her when I saw her "iffy" mantle – the dang thing looked like it should have been on the cover of Country Living.
It was perfectly "not" arranged with large crystal urns, autumnal berries and super cool, folk art Halloween figurines. I wanted to puke.
What made matters worse, was that my mantle looked like the Halloween Fairy barfed all over it. Why? Because in a moment of decorating frustration, I piled every single Halloween decoration that I owned on top of the mantle and called it quits.
The next day, I knew I was in trouble when Daniele came inside to pick my son up for school. Her horrified face said it all – my mantle was not happening. So, being the mature person that I am, I threw a hissy fit, and yanked everything down after she left. Then I made her come back over and fix my mantle…which, she did – and now it looks super cool!
So, in the spirit of Halloween, and sisterly love, I decided to highlight some of Daniele's wickedly cool Halloween crafts from last year as we prepare to make new ones this weekend. Enjoy!

I also did a round-up of the past Halloween projects. I thought I would share that with you.

Thanks for sharing yours (um, your sisters:).

Denine you are so funny! I may have gotten mom’s crafting gene, but you at least got her baking gene. Try explaining that to a house full of sweet-tooths!
I’m just happy you didn’t throw one of those giant pumpkins at me….
